Shiver just rang me to say he was knocked off whilst filtering by someone opening a car door on him He is in hospital with a damaged hand, they are checking if it is broken etc His bike is in a bad way, I'm sure he will be online soon to tell you all the full hundred.

that sucks. hope he's ok, doesn't really matter about the bike as that's easy to fix!

on my way home coming up telford ave the traffic was backing up waiting to turn onto streatham high road on the right at the top is an island on the left a clear gap so i slowed down went to pass the first car got just to the rear quarter rear passenger door opens no time to do anything smash i hit the door move a foot forward crush mushroom hits door i hit a nice merc and im stuck pinned between both cars and my bike.

both hands went numb couldn't move managed to hit the kill switch turn off and get off luckily my mate who lives a few doors from me saw it all and helped me get out of my gear

the bone below my little finger has the ball end snapped off so ill need a pin in there will find out in the morning when my op is

from what you said the car driver would be in fault i assume, so hopefully through insurance your bike will get sorted.
But the main this is your'e still here and although your injuries look painful hopefully you can make a full recovery from them mate.

dont know yet got to wait 10 days and have another xray as a break on this bone takes awhile to show up. need to find out what ima do with the bike i know it needs looking over but do i send it off to be checked do i let the insurance people do it etc

Dude, call your insurance company and get them to deal with it. I am not sure how it will work as it was a passenger that commited the act causing you to crash into the other car. I would imagine the car you fell onto will claim from your insurance and in turn they claim it back from the first car that was at fault.

You can elect a garage to repair your bike (dont let them tell you otherwise) but they will send an estimator out to view the damage on your bike, people I know who have had claims have repaired their own bikes and had cash left over to play with. Those that let the insurance company take the bike didnt see it again for months!

Do you have both driver details and any witnesses? If not you can enquire after cctv from the police.

rss are dealing with it my insurance company are useless

got details of both cars and 2 witnesses both ive known for years.

the bike will be going infinity clapham and hope ill be able to get enough for a new bike or rebuild mine and have abit of cash left over

rss are the same type of people your talking about they have dealt with my dads and brothers claims before.

i will change insurer as these are useless and not help full all they wanted was my money.

the bike will be looked at. at infinity they will write up an estimate of damage the guy will say what he recons only needs replacing if its not written off then that can be contested (i use to work there in parts doing the estimates)

so if not written off ill let infinity do the full repair im a happy boy if the bike is written off and i can buy the bike back then ill rebuild it and then i might be left with cash after you never know

Redz i dunno who you know apart from Echelon who had their bike taken for months but you need to tell them to change their insurance company. Mine are really good when i had all my problems i was paid out and back riding within a month!!

I know several people, infact I am one of them with bike and car, my car was the worst case tho. They had it sitting outdoors in a pound all open for several months before even looking at it, it all went on for ages, in the end i actually took the repair company bosses Lexus and used that until they returned my car!
