Dear all,
Julia has asked me to inform you all of an incident I was involved in last night.
I was driving home down Bluebell Hill at around 10-10.15pm when a white transit van pulled up beside me. The driver beeped his horn and held up a white A4 laminated sign which said 'Police. Pull Over'. I ignored it and carried on driving and intended to drive straight to Maidstone Police Station before stopping however, the van eventually pulled away and drove off into the distance towards Maidstone town centre.
I was too shaken to take notice of the registration number however I can tell that it was a fairly new looking and clean high sided transit van. The man was white, medium build, around 35-45 and hair going a bit thin on top.
Please be aware of this especially if you are driving alone at night and needless to say DON'T STOP. I have reported the incident to the police andthey are going to look at the camera footage. Although they haven't told me at this stage that it definitely wasn't the police, they have said that I did absolutley the right thing by not stopping. I will keep you all informed of the outcome.

Im sure we all know what the deal is and not to just pull over but this is not the first time i have heard of something like this happening in and around London, so be careful and aware out there... not just the new riders!

good info there, i think there is a law where is an unmarked police car requests you to pull over you have the right to travel upto the nearest police station first.

Valerie my advice would be NEVER to stop under any circumstances if an unmarked police car trys to pull you over. They have no right to do so and they should know better. They know what the deal is so keep riding until it is safe and to the nearest police station.
